Collection: CONSCIOUS KANTHA
Kantha stitch embroidery is a simple quilting stitch that comes from Bangladesh and west Bengal.
The word 'Kantha' in Hindi relates to the telling of a story, and so the village women would tell stories with their stitching.
The most common type of Kantha embroidery is a simple running stitch in very dense vertical lines, telling the story of the monsoon rains.
Our collection of jackets are made by our tailors who have a fair trade ethos in their workplace.
(See who made our clothes in Artisans section.)
This collection of beautiful Kantha stich embroidered vintage Jackets are made from Bengali Vintage throws that we source from all over India.
We upcycle each individual piece being mindful of pattern placement and design, and therefore create totally unique one off jackets that you will love.
